You don’t get to be in the top 6,000 Etsy shops worldwide without learning a brilliant hack or two…
So here are the top 5 hacks I’ve learned from over 12,000 sales on Etsy.
1) Set Goals
I talk to so many Etsy sellers every single week who don’t have a specific goal for their shops and this is a huge mistake. Your actions need to be much, much different if you want to make 100 sales this year or 10,000 sales, right? So you if you don’t set really specific goals each year then it’s like your wandering alone in the woods without a destination. You need to know exactly where you want to go so you can make yourself on map on how to get there.
2) Make a Plan
Speaking of a map…
You need a map to reach your goal destination. So you need to make a plan to reach your sales goal! Goals really mean nothing if you don’t have an idea of how you’re going to reach them. So after you set that goal, sit down and decide how you’re going to try to get there.
3) Prioritize
Not every part of your plan is equally important. If you’re just starting out for example, social media isn’t as important as learning and perfecting your SEO so you can start taking advantage of all of that traffic Etsy can bring you.
If you’re making really consistent sales but want to start scaling, working with influencers to really explode your Instagram traffic is going to get you there faster than scheduling out your Pinterest for the next 3 months.
Prioritize the important work. Not the busy work.
4) Schedule your Time
This is life changing for keeping you on track and focused on your priorities. Batch like tasks and schedule them throughout you week to be your most productive and efficient.
5) Roll with the Punches
You aren’t always going to hit your goals. Your plans aren’t always going to work out. You aren’t always going to stick to your schedule. You’re going to get sidetracked and mess things up. But if you put that determination first, you’re always going to end up figuring it out. That’s my single biggest Etsy hack because it will lead to your success every single time. Your path to success might not look the way you thought it would, but that happens to the best of us. Roll with the punches and keep working.
