Are you an Etsy seller looking to increase your sales without spending money on ads? There are many effective strategies you can use to boost your visibility and attract more customers to your shop. In this post, we’ll share 10 proven tips to help you grow your Etsy business and increase your sales.

Optimize your product listings for search.

One of the most important things you can do to boost your Etsy sales is to optimize your product listings for search. This means using relevant keywords in your titles, tags, and descriptions so that your products show up in search results when people are looking for items like yours. Etsy has over 90 million buyers. Getting found organically in search results is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to get sales.

Use high-quality product photos.

One of the most important aspects of selling on Etsy is having high-quality product photos. Professional looking photos help develop the Know, Like, Trust factor for your buyers making it easier for them to feel safe purchasing from you. Your photos should be clear, well-lit, and showcase your product from multiple angles. Remember, your photos are often the first impression customers have of your products, so make sure they are eye-catching and appealing.

Add more listings.

You need full product lines to get found in Etsy search. Etsy sees you as more important for keywords that are saturated in your shop. Offer free shipping.

Free shipping works, my friend. Not only does it increase your conversion rate, but it also helps you rank higher in Etsy searches. If you experiment with free shipping for your Etsy listings, don’t forget to increase your product costs to make up for it!

Run a sale.

A limited time sale helps you get found in Etsy search by buyers who are using the “on sale” filter in searches or on the app as shown below.

Use automated coupons.

Using automated coupons on Etsy is an easy way to get sales from potential buyers who favorite a listing or add it to their cart but don’t check out. Do remember that just because these are easy doesn’t mean they are necessarily quick. Buyers do have to opt in to these coupons so they aren’t sent to everyone who favorites your listings or adds to cart.

Utilize social media to promote your shop.

Social media is one of the most popular way to decrease your reliance on Etsy and Etsy ads. I recommend picking one social media platform that you enjoy and focusing on it consistently to get the best results.

Work with influencers.

Influencers on Instagram or TikTok can be a great way to get sales, as well as User Generated Content (UGC) for your own social media posts. This can be quite the time investment though, so don’t expect overnight results. You’ll want to spend time interacting with the influencers you love prior to reaching out to increase your chances of them wanting to work with you.

Utilize email marketing.

Email marketing has some of the best returns on investment than any other marketing platform does. It takes time to build your email list though, so the earlier you start the better. Once your list is built up to a few hundred (or few thousand!) people, sending monthly or weekly emails can be a great way to get consistent sales without paid ads.
