Oh, there’s a loaded question if there ever was one. 😉
And I can say that because I speak from experience, dear Etsy seller.
When I first started my shop, I spent a lot of time promoting, asking questions, and just hanging out hoping to learn. Want to know what I really gained though?
A whole heck of a lot of confusion. And here’s why…
There is a huge mix of sellers in those groups. (I know because I run one!) Some successful. Some not.
And you never know who you’re getting advice from, if that advice is good, or how long ago it was since that advise was good.
Ever seen someone recommend renewing listings? (Doesn’t work anymore.)
Or to turn on ads for just a dollar a day to get traffic? (Why do you care about traffic? Traffic doesn’t pay your bills.)
Or to do follow for follow threads of any kind? (Yikes those are always bad for you.)
So here’s what I recommend instead.
Make a plan for how you’re going to use your time. There is always something more productive that you could be doing. Creating new listings. Scheduling your social media. Perfecting your photos. Learning SEO.
Need help with that plan? My 5 part framework tells you the exact order you should be completing each of the 5 steps in order to see success on Etsy as quickly as possible. Sign up here.
