It’s so easy to get caught up in making and listing products on Etsy. And forget to actually work on the business side of your shop too.
So let’s talk about the four things that ever Etsy seller needs to do each month.
1 – Check the Calendar
Did you forgot about your fall listings until September 1st again this year? Been there, done that.
If you aren’t keeping your calendar in check, then your seasonal sales are never going to do as well as they could. Valentine’s Day listed in January. Mother’s Day by March. Christmas in September.
Hitting those dates too late? You’re going to start getting your traffic too late too.
Each month you should be checking your calendar to see what’s coming up next.
2 – Check your Stats
Did your search terms change this month? Traffic go down? Social media take a dive? Don’t know?!
You don’t need to be checking your stats every hour on the hour, but you do need to know what’s changing from month to month.
That way you can stay on top of changes and (more importantly) celebrate your wins!
3 – Check your Social
Your social plan that is.
What worked last month? What didn’t? Where did you get traffic from? Where didn’t you get traffic from that you should have?
You have to know what’s working and what’s not so you can adjust your plan as needed.
4 – Check your Systems
What worked last month? What held you up? What processes need improvement?
Maybe you lost track of your inventory. Maybe you had to increase your processing times.
There are things in the background of your business that keep everything running. Check in each month with which of them are working like clockwork and which need a tune up.
