As a maker, you have a lot of options for where to sell your products. Etsy, Amazon, social media, Shopify…there are pros and cons to every platform. So why do I love selling on Etsy? Here are my top reasons why I keep my business on the platform.
Low fees
At around 9.5%, Etsy has the lowest fees of any platform with as many buyers as they have. As a maker, you’ve probably heard of plenty of platforms advertising lower fees. Unfortunately, none of those platforms gets enough traffic from actual buyers for you to make consistent revenue.
A ton of buyers
Etsy had over 90 million buyers last year. That’s a lot of potential sales, right? Getting in front of all of these buyers by using the SEO algorithm is really simple compared to a lot of platforms which means it can work quickly.
Easy to set up and scale
Etsy being so easy to set up helps you create a shop that will actually help you convert your traffic into purchases because it’s so easy to navigate for buyers.
After you get your first few sales, it’s also really easy to scale to hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenue on the platform if that’s your goal as well.
